Hello lovely honeymooners to be. First of all - huge congratulations. Planning your wedding is such an exciting time and your honeymoon should be the icing on the cake. It is your first adventure as a married couple, a chance to celebrate your love, relax after the whirlwind of the big day and create memories that will stay with you forever.
I know it can sometimes feel overwhelming when you start thinking about where to go. Do you want beaches or cities? Adventure or relaxation? A little bit of everything? That is where I come in. I take away the stress and help you find somewhere that is just right for the two of you.
And here is a little secret. September is one of the most perfect months for honeymoons. The school holidays are finished, the crowds have thinned out, and prices are often better. The weather in so many destinations is still beautifully warm but not uncomfortable. The sea is lovely for swimming and the evenings are made for cocktails and long lazy dinners. It really is a month that feels made for romance.
So whether you are heading away this September or planning ahead for September 2026 or 2027, let me inspire you with some of the most magical places for your honeymoon.
Tropical paradise and island bliss

If your idea of honeymoon heaven is soft white sand, turquoise waters and long afternoons where it feels like time stands still, then September is perfect.
The Maldives will always top the list for romance. Imagine waking up in your own overwater villa, diving straight into the clear blue lagoon and ending the day with a candlelit dinner on the beach under the stars. September also offers great value here which makes it even more tempting.
The Seychelles is another dreamy choice. The beaches are picture perfect with soft sand and striking granite boulders, and the atmosphere is relaxed and timeless. September is dry and sunny and if you are lucky you might even spot whale sharks gliding by.
Mauritius is ideal if you want a blend of beach time and adventure. You can relax at a luxury resort or head inland to explore mountains, waterfalls and markets. Many hotels go the extra mile for honeymooners with spa packages, sunset cruises and little surprises in your room.
If you fancy going further, the Cook Islands, Tahiti and Bora Bora in the South Pacific are pure magic. Think lagoons so blue you can hardly believe they are real, coral reefs alive with colour and overwater bungalows that are simply unforgettable. September is their dry season with warm clear days and migrating humpback whales to spot too.
Closer to Asia, Fiji is known for its welcoming spirit and stunning beaches. It is the kind of place where every sunset feels like a postcard. Bali is also gorgeous in September. The weather is sunny and dry and you can mix cultural sights with yoga retreats, spa days and relaxing by your own private pool.
Safari and adventure escapes

If you are the kind of couple who likes a little adventure with your romance, September is one of the best months for safari.
In Kenya and Tanzania you can still catch the Great Migration. Picture thousands of wildebeest and zebras thundering across the plains with lions and cheetahs nearby. It is one of the greatest wildlife shows on earth. After your safari you can add a few days on the beach in Zanzibar for the ultimate honeymoon combination.
South Africa is perfect for variety. You can spend time on safari in Kruger National Park, go whale watching along the coast, explore Cape Town and enjoy the scenery of the Garden Route. September is also prime whale season in Hermanus and the weather is sunny and dry. Pair it with a few days in Mauritius or Mozambique and you have a wonderful balance.
Speaking of Mozambique, this is a hidden gem. The beaches are untouched and the sand is silky white. In September you can see humpback whales migrating along the coast. It feels like a barefoot paradise and is perfect for honeymooners who want something off the radar.
Further afield, Canada in September is spectacular. The crowds have gone and the landscapes are jaw dropping. Think turquoise lakes, towering mountains, salmon runs and even grizzly bears. If you love the great outdoors it is a wonderful option.
New Zealand is stepping into spring in September. The valleys are full of blossom, the waterfalls are at their most powerful and the days are crisp and clear. It is perfect for couples who love hiking, cycling and exploring.
Australia also shines at this time of year. The northern reefs are at their best and the weather is warm and dry. Ningaloo Reef is one of the few places in the world where you can swim with whale sharks which makes for the ultimate honeymoon story.
European charm and culture

You do not always have to travel far to find romance. Europe in September is beautiful. The crowds have gone, the seas are still warm and everything feels calmer.
Greece is always romantic. Santorini has sunsets that are pure magic and little boutique hotels designed just for couples. If you prefer somewhere quieter, Corfu has stunning scenery and plenty of charm.
Italy is made for honeymoons. You can glide down canals in Venice, wander hand in hand through ancient streets in Rome or soak up the views on the Amalfi Coast. September is warm but comfortable and the atmosphere is much more relaxed.
Spain is perfect if you want sun, culture and food. Stay in a villa in Mallorca, a stylish hotel in Ibiza or wander the historic cities of Andalucia. September is still warm and sunny so you get the best of both worlds.
Croatia is another brilliant choice. September is ideal for island hopping, exploring medieval towns and enjoying quiet little bays. You can spend your days sailing, swimming and eating delicious seafood.
For something with a twist, Turkey offers stunning beaches and luxury hotels in beautiful settings. September is warm and ideal for a mix of relaxation and exploring.
And if you want something really different, Iceland in September is magical. You can explore glaciers, lagoons and volcanoes by day, then retreat to a cosy lodge or soak in a hot spring at night. It is also the start of the northern lights season which makes it even more special.
