We had a fantastic four-day break for my birthday celebrations. The hotel was lovely and welcoming. There were nice places to walk close by with a nature reserve within walking distance that was beautiful and so peaceful to roam around. There was an IKEA literally at the end of the road (driving distance not walking) which was a nice treat for a spot of home shopping. The town wasn't too far away although we didn't venture there.
The food at the hotel was lovely - a good mix of cooked and continental for breakfast. We had an included cream tea on days 1 and 3, and on days 2 and 4 we had a sandwich and soup included. All were lovely.
The evening meals were in the main Italian restaurant. You could choose any two courses from the menu. There were a couple of items you had to pay a surcharge for but we didn't bother as there was lots of other things to choose from. The food was fantastic and good sized portions too. We definitely didn't go hungry!!
The drinks were included between 6pm and 10pm and you could choose between soft drinks, tea and coffee, beer and house wine. I was even made a very special birthday cocktail by the lovely man behind the bar!
It was a very relaxed break for us to chill and unwind, and was exactly what we wanted it to be.
