Hello lovely honeymooners to be...

First of all, huge congratulations. Planning your wedding is such an exciting time and your honeymoon should be the icing on the cake. It’s your first adventure as a married couple; a chance to celebrate your love, relax after the whirlwind of the big day and create memories that will stay with you forever.

I know it can feel overwhelming when you start thinking about where to go. Do you want beaches or cities? Adventure or relaxation? A little bit of everything? That’s where I come in. I take away the stress and help you find somewhere that feels just right for the two of you.

And here’s a little secret. October is one of the most magical months for a honeymoon. The summer crowds have gone, prices are often better, and the weather in many destinations is perfect - warm, sunny and relaxed. Europe is still beautifully balmy, Africa offers some of the best safari experiences in the world, and further afield you’ll find tropical islands and cultural escapes just waiting for you.

So whether you’re jetting off this October or planning ahead for 2026 or 2027, let me inspire you with some of the dreamiest places for your honeymoon.

Sun-kissed European escapes

Early October is a wonderful time to enjoy the Mediterranean. The sea is still warm, the sun shines most days, and everything feels calmer after the busy summer season.

The Greek Islands

Santorini is made for romance with its iconic cliffside hotels, infinity pools and those famous sunsets. Temperatures are still around 25°C and you’ll have plenty of sunshine. For something more laid-back, Corfu has gorgeous adults-only retreats, like MarBella Nido, where you can enjoy your own private pool.

Italy

If old-school glamour is your thing, the Amalfi Coast is perfect - think romantic hotels clinging to the cliffs, Michelin-starred dining, and boat trips along the coastline. Sardinia’s beaches are pristine and quiet in October, while Rome, Florence and Venice are simply wonderful without the sweltering heat or long queues. For the ultimate splurge, there’s even the chance to travel on the Orient Express from London to Venice.

Spain & Portugal

Imagine your own private villa in Mallorca or a romantic palace stay in Seville. October brings warm sunny days and fewer crowds, ideal for sightseeing. Later in the month, head to Tenerife or Madeira for year-round sunshine, dramatic scenery, whale watching, and even adventure activities like canyoning or paragliding.

Unforgettable safaris and exotic beaches

For many couples, a honeymoon is the perfect chance to combine adventure with relaxation; and October is one of the very best months for it.

South Africa

October is prime safari season in Kruger National Park. Dry, warm weather means animals gather at waterholes, making game drives unforgettable. You can then explore Cape Town’s vibrant food scene or sip wine in the rolling vineyards of Stellenbosch.

Kenya & Tanzania

October is the end of the Great Migration in the Masai Mara, where huge herds of wildebeest and zebra thunder across the plains. In Tanzania, safaris are excellent too, and nothing beats finishing with a few dreamy days on the beaches of Zanzibar.

The Indian Ocean

This region is perfect in October, with sunshine and blue skies across the islands.

  • Maldives - Overwater villas, turquoise lagoons and private dinners on the beach. The ultimate barefoot luxury.

  • Mauritius - A wonderful mix of relaxation and adventure, with golf, spas, waterfalls and zip-lining all waiting.

  • Seychelles - Some of the best beaches in the world, calm seas for snorkelling and jaw-dropping scenery.

Dubai

Just a six-hour flight from the UK, Dubai offers guaranteed sunshine (around 36°C), luxury hotels and desert adventures. Many honeymooners pair it with the Maldives or Mauritius for a two-centre trip – city glamour followed by island paradise.

Captivating long-haul adventures

If your dream honeymoon means travelling further afield, October is a brilliant time to go.

Asia

October is the start of the best season across Southeast Asia. Sri Lanka is full of temples, tea plantations and beaches; the Philippines has powder-white sands and island-hopping adventures; and Japan in October is magical, with autumn colours painting the countryside red and gold perfect for couples who want something different.

The Americas

Peru is stunning at the end of its dry season. Imagine a luxury train ride through the Andes to Machu Picchu, or perhaps a romantic road trip down California’s Pacific Coast Highway with ocean views all the way.

The South Pacific

If your idea of heaven is being completely away from it all, the islands of French Polynesia, Fiji and the Cook Islands are unbeatable. Bora Bora’s overwater bungalows are as dreamy as they look in the photos, while Fiji and the Cooks offer seclusion, soft sands and that “just the two of us” feeling.
