Experience the sensation of true freedom on the open road on this adventure entirely of your own choosing in an iconic VW campervan. Whether you take the campervan for a couple of nights to explore the stunning scenery of the Lake District, or you decide to go a bit further afield, this is one adventure that will live long in the memory.
Pick up your campervan from your starting point in Lancaster just outside the Lakes and within easy reach of the Yorkshire Dales, and from there, it’s totally up to you where you travel. Note: Pick up is on Monday or Friday only.
Head to the Lakes and cruise through mountain scenery, stopping for hikes wherever you feel like it and camping in gorgeous beauty spots, or within handy reach of great local pubs.
Or you could drive to the Yorkshire Dales, where the scenery can be equally stunning, often without the crowds. The real draw of this experience is the ability to get properly off the beaten track, as you plan your own routes and simply enjoy your holiday at your own pace.
If you’re feeling particularly adventurous and have a little time on your hands, why not drive up towards Scotland, drinking in some of the best driving roads and scenery that Europe has to offer.
These classic vans are for enjoying a relaxing sojourn in some of the island's most gorgeous scenery rather than clocking up the miles, but if you do pootle up to Scotland you can camp in true wilderness, waking up to nothing but the sounds of nature before settling outside for a morning cuppa.
Wherever you go with one of these cute and iconic campervans, we can guarantee that by the time you have to part with her, back in Lancaster, you’ll have developed a strong bond with your little mobile home, and will already be planning your next trip with Heidi, Winnie or Daisy.
All campervans for hire have access to heating, with an electric convector heater provided with each van which you can power when connected to a hook up point on a camp site. All come with fully comp insurance and national breakdown cover.
Heidi
Heidi is the youngest (newest) in the fleet – a newly refurbished, 2012 T5 VW campervan in a fetching shade of green. She comes with everything you need to have an incredible journey around the Lake District, or beyond, in total comfort, including kitchen hobs with all cooking essentials, a table, heating, USB ports, power sockets, a fridge and a rear showerhead.
She has a full width bed downstairs and a pop top upstairs with a single bed.
She seats six and would quite comfortably sleep a family of four or you could even fit four adults in Heidi. As she’s a bit more modern she’s even good for trips up to Scotland!
Daisy
Our very first campervan, Daisy is a summery shade of yellow and was built in 1971. Newly refurbished, she comes with all the same amenities as Winnie, and is the perfect vehicle for your adventures around the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales.
She has a pop top with a single bed upstairs in the pop top and a 3/4 rock n roll bed downstairs. She’s good for groups of two or a family of four. She’s got two gas hobs, all your kitchen essentials for cooking, camping chairs, electric heater good for hook up point on a camp site, cool box and don’t forget, all of our campervans come with a BBQ!
Winnie
Winnie is our bright, cheerful orange campervan, kept in incredible condition since she was manufactured in 1975, and newly converted. She has all the same amenities as Daisy, but her layout is slightly different. Downstairs, she has a 3/4 rock n rolla bed like Daisy. Then there’s two pull out hammock beds in the pop top good for two kids under 10. The kids love them as it’s like being in a den!
She has everything you need for your trip, two gas hobs and a grill for cooking, USB ports, electric heater for when on a campsite hook up, tables and camping chairs!
