February is one of my favourite months for honeymoons, and it’s one I recommend time and time again to my couples. You’re escaping the UK winter, travelling at a point where many destinations are at their absolute best, and often benefiting from better availability and value than later in the year.

What I love most about February honeymoons is that they’re rarely rushed or crowded.

Whether you want barefoot luxury, unforgettable wildlife moments, cultural depth or simply warm sunshine and time together, February offers some truly exceptional options when it’s planned properly. This is where experience matters.

Here’s my expert guide to the destinations that genuinely shine in February and why they work so beautifully for honeymoon travel.

Tropical perfection: Caribbean and Indian Ocean

February is peak season across the Caribbean and Indian Ocean, and it’s one of the most reliable times of year for weather. Warm days, low humidity, calm seas and sunshine you can actually plan around.

The Caribbean enjoys temperatures around 27–29°C, with low rainfall and bright, clear days.

Saint Lucia

Saint Lucia is a favourite for couples who want romance with wow factor. The Pitons create an unforgettable backdrop, while boutique resorts tucked into the rainforest offer privacy, spa experiences and those “just us” moments that honeymoons are all about. February is also excellent for snorkelling and sailing thanks to calm seas and great visibility.

Anguilla

Anguilla is one I often suggest to couples who want quiet luxury rather than nightlife. It’s refined, peaceful and all about space. Long white beaches, exceptional food and beautifully understated resorts make it ideal for couples who want to switch off properly.

The Maldives

The Indian Ocean really comes into its own in February. The Maldives is firmly in its dry season, with temperatures around 31–32°C and stunningly clear water. February is perfect for overwater villas, private pools and dining under the stars. It’s also one of the best months for couples who want absolute privacy and a true honeymoon feel.

Mauritius

Mauritius offers a wonderful balance of relaxation and exploration. You still get beautiful beaches, but with added culture, botanical gardens, waterfalls and rum distilleries. February is a great time for honeymoon upgrades here, something I always look out for when booking for my couples.

Wildlife, wine and wide open spaces: Africa

Africa is an incredible honeymoon choice in February, especially for couples who want experiences they’ll talk about for the rest of their lives.

East Africa is in its green season, which means fewer visitors, lush landscapes and incredible wildlife moments.

Kenya

Kenya is particularly special in February. This is when many animals give birth, so you’ll see young wildlife alongside dramatic predator action. The light is softer, the scenery greener and the experience feels far more intimate than peak migration months.

Tanzania

Tanzania offers the chance to witness the Great Migration in the Serengeti before finishing your honeymoon on the white sands of Zanzibar. I love this combination for couples who want adventure first, then total relaxation.

South Africa

South Africa works beautifully for February honeymoons as it's enjoying full summer. The Garden Route is vibrant and green, vineyards in Franschhoek and Stellenbosch are buzzing, and evenings are warm enough for long dinners and sunset wine tastings. It’s relaxed, romantic and surprisingly varied.

Culture, colour and calm seas: Asia

February is one of the most dependable months for travel across much of Asia, making it ideal for couples who want culture without challenging weather.

Thailand

Thailand sits comfortably in its dry season. February works just as well for lively resorts and island hopping as it does for slower paced spa focused honeymoons. It’s a destination I often tailor very carefully depending on the couple, as the experience can feel completely different depending on where you stay.

Vietnam

Vietnam is wonderfully atmospheric in February. Many couples love timing their honeymoon with Tet, the Lunar New Year, when streets are decorated, cities come alive and places like Hoi An glow with lantern light.

Borneo

Borneo is perfect for couples who want nature and something a little different. February offers drier conditions for rainforest lodges, wildlife encounters and truly memorable honeymoon experiences.

India

India is beautifully balanced in February. Rajasthan’s palace hotels, desert sunsets and historic cities feel indulgent rather than intense, making it a surprisingly romantic choice when planned properly.

Summer energy and big experiences: South America and Australia

February in the southern hemisphere is all about summer energy, long days and unforgettable scenery.

Brazil

Brazil is vibrant and full of life. Some couples choose to embrace the excitement of Rio Carnival, while others escape to quieter beach towns like Trancoso for a more relaxed but equally beautiful honeymoon.

Argentina

Argentina offers contrast in the best way. Buenos Aires is warm, stylish and romantic, while Patagonia’s glaciers and lakes are at their most accessible, making February ideal for couples who want variety.

Australia

Australia is hot, bright and full of possibilities. February suits reef experiences, coastal road trips and festival filled cities, especially for couples who want space, adventure and something a little epic for their honeymoon.

Shorter flights and seasonal romance

Not every February honeymoon needs to be long haul, and some of the most romantic experiences are closer than you think.

Dubai

Dubai offers guaranteed sunshine, warm seas and world class hotels without the long flight time. It works perfectly as a mini moon or luxury stopover.

Venice

Venice is magical in February thanks to Carnival. Masked balls, candlelit canals and a quieter city create a genuinely romantic atmosphere.

Iceland

Iceland is ideal for couples wanting something unforgettable. February offers excellent Northern Lights viewing, dramatic landscapes and geothermal hot tubs under star filled skies.

My February honeymoon advice

February honeymoons work best when they’re planned with care. Understanding weather patterns, knowing where to avoid crowds, securing the right room types and spotting honeymoon perks all make a huge difference to the experience.

I work closely with my couples from the very beginning. I take the time to understand what you actually want from your honeymoon, then match you to destinations that truly suit you, not just what looks good online. Every booking is fully ABTA and ATOL protected, and I’m with you every step of the way - before you travel, while you’re away and when you return.

If February is calling your name, let’s talk it through properly. I’ll help you choose the destination that fits your style, your pace and your idea of romance, so your honeymoon feels effortless from start to finish.
