Explore America’s glorious West Coast!

There’s a wealth of sights and sounds to explore in the USA, from the Deep South to the Rocky Mountains in the north, buzzing New York City and the sunshine state of California to name just a few.

So where should you start if you want to discover this incredible country?

We’ve picked out one of the most popular destinations within the USA right now - the glorious west. Let’s take you there...

Los Angeles

Known best for celebs and the paparazzi, it’s easy to get wrapped up in the thrill of it all and lose sight of the pure beauty everywhere you go in LA. We recommend visiting Hollywood, the Walk of Fame and the Chinese Theatre; and if you’ve got time, head to Disneyland just in time for the fireworks!

You’re also never far from a hiking trail in LA - that’ll seriously impress you and make the climb well worth it. Blessed with sun all year around too, it’ll make it even more special. So instead of heading to a rooftop bar, grab your hiking boots and set off on an adventure.

Las Vegas & The Grand Canyon

The journey to Las Vegas is just as impressive as Las Vegas itself. Travel along a section of Route 66, passing the impressive Hoover Dam – one of the USA’s largest power plants. A historic landmark, it straddles the Arizona-Nevada border and towers more than 725ft above the Colorado River, making it one of the world’s tallest dams!

On arrival into Las Vegas, you’ll see casinos at every turn. Head to Caesars Palace for a mix of past and present – it won’t be like anything you’ll find at home - it’ll be buzzing morning, noon and night!

Had enough of the casinos? No problem – why not take a visit to see a Cirque du Soleil show or visit the Mob Museum?

Stretching over 277 miles from end to end, the Grand Canyon is something truly spectacular and easy to get to from Las Vegas. We’re in no doubt that the colour contrasts in the rocks will wow you as you take in the sheer magnificence of it all.

There’s more than one way to see this mighty attraction - including walking trails and scenic viewpoints - but one of the best ways to view it is by air. And we don’t think you’ll be disappointed!

Yosemite National Park

Granite cliffs, meadows, lakes, giant sequoia, glaciers, forests and waterfalls combined with bears, deer, coyote, bobcats, river otters and an array of bird species is what you’ll find in Yosemite National Park.

For the adventurer or outdoor enthusiast, you’re in the right place! With hiking, rock climbing, horseback riding and rafting, plus skiing and snowboarding in the winter, there’s plenty to see and do!

We also recommend taking some time to discover Yosemite Falls – one of the world’s tallest waterfalls, and learn about the native Miwok Indians at the Indian Cultural Museum. Look out for coyotes, flacons and bears here!

San Francisco

Get ready to explore California’s trendiest, chilled-out city! It’s easy to fall in love with its relaxed vibe and soak up the atmosphere.

Enjoy an array of incredible eateries and sights galore.

Get yourself to the Golden Gate Bridge to see its gently curved cables and deep orange hue - it’s a total showstopper.

We also recommend taking the iconic cable cars to the colony of sea lions at Fisherman’s Wharf.

Another not-be-missed attraction is Alcatraz. Some call it creepy, some call it fascinating... and some call it both! As well as opening up your eyes to how military prisons were between the 1930s and 1960s, you’ll get some pretty awesome views of San Francisco Bay on route there.
